I am a 16-year-old male. I've recently been taking the law into my own hands as a vigilante. I'm competely serious. I got this idea when one of my friends who is a girl was raped by another kid in our grade. She had bruises all over her face and two broken ribs. I decided that there are so many people deserving in retribution, too many that the police can handle. She didn't want to go to the police, so I decided to handle the situation. I finally caught up with the offender at a party. We started fighting and I was doing quite well seeing as I have been training for six months. I was about to knock him out when he grabbed a kitchen knife and started jabbing me with it. I disarmed him, and finished the fight with a punch to the left cheek. He stumbled away and I left. Since then I have saved two ten-year-old boys from getting their money stolen in an alley, saved a girl from sexual assault at a party, and stopped a forty-year-old man from kidnapping a seven-year-old girl from a mall. Yet what I do is illegal. I've known that all along. I stand up for people who can't do it themselves, but anyday I could be arrested. But I won't get in any trouble, because the people I harm, were attempting to harm another person. If I go down, they do too. Many people would be outraged by what I do, but I imagine the people who I helped escape from being attacked would be quite grateful. I feel that someone has to protect the vulnerable, and right now it has to be me. Out of all the honors awards I've recieved in school, and being voted captain of my schools varsity soccer team, I consider this to be my greatest accomplishment.
